Levan Macharashvili, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party, referred to Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, as a “rootless agent.” He was commenting on statements made by the opposition politician during an interview with the Formula television channel, in which Gvaramia spoke positively about Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s decision regarding Karabakh, while emphasizing that his words “should not be taken by anyone as a parallel to Abkhazia.”

“Let me remind you that 230,000 of our fellow citizens voted for this ‘rootless agent’ in the 2024 parliamentary elections. Aren’t you even the slightest bit ashamed?” Machavariani wrote on social media.

The MP also stated that a month ago, Gvaramia “spoke with deep sorrow about how large reconstruction tranches would be allocated to devastated Ukraine, while we would be left without this money because peace is maintained in Georgia.”
