From August 29 to September 3, the Gudauri ski resort will host an international paragliding championship. The FAI Category 2 competition will bring together pilots from all over the world on the slopes of the Greater Caucasus.
The Caucasus Open Series Edition 2026 is the third championship held in Georgia and one of the largest to date. The competition will launch from a mountain slope at an altitude of 2,700 meters above sea level, with participants flying an average distance of about 50 kilometers.
Pilots will navigate technical routes over the peaks of the Greater Caucasus, encounter powerful mountain thermals (updrafts of warm air in the atmosphere), and take in spectacular views of the Aragvi Valley.
The event is organized by the 2024 championship winner, Yan Minasyan, representing the company Adrenaline. The tournament will be held with the support of the Georgian Paragliding Federation, among others.
