Georgian Dream MP Gia Volski has called a statement by former Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze addressed to the ruling party’s founder, Bidzina Ivanishvili, “pathetic.” Volski believes that the purpose of the publication is to discredit Ivanishvili.
“An absurd topic has been raised, including what you asked regarding family security. That is, a clear goal can be seen here—to discredit state structures and Bidzina Ivanishvili personally at all costs. Nothing else can be read into this content, into this pathetic letter,” Volski stated in response to questions from journalists.
As a reminder, on August 17, the imprisoned Irakli Garibashvili issued an appeal stating that “from this day forward, full responsibility for his safety and the safety of his family rests on Bidzina Ivanishvili and the entire government.” The former prime minister promised to release an expanded letter the following day, on August 18.
