According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), Georgian airports served 2 million passengers in the second quarter of 2026.

According to the agency, this figure is 5.7% lower compared to the same period last year.

“In the second quarter of 2026, Georgian airports served 2.0 million passengers, which is 5.7% less than the figure for the corresponding period last year: 1.0 million passengers departed from airports (down 7.0%), while 1.0 million passengers arrived (down 4.4%).

In the second quarter of 2026, scheduled flights accounted for 94.5% of total passenger traffic at Georgian airports.

The number of passenger flights operated from Georgian airports in the second quarter of 2026 totaled 8.2 thousand, a decrease of 4.7% compared to the same period last year.

In the second quarter of 2026, cargo and mail throughput at Georgian airports amounted to 11.3 thousand tons, with incoming cargo and mail accounting for 90.8% and outgoing for 9.2%,” the report stated.

According to Geostat, 1.1 thousand cargo flights were operated at Georgian airports in the second quarter of 2026, which is 21.1% higher than in the same period last year.

“In the second quarter of 2026, 1.1 thousand cargo flights were carried out at Georgian airports, exceeding the figure for the corresponding period last year by 21.1%. In the second quarter of 2026, Georgian air transport carried 141.1 thousand passengers and 35.9 thousand tons of cargo. During this period, the number of transported passengers was 18.3% lower than in the same period last year, while cargo volume decreased by 6.0%,” the report noted.
