Georgian Interior Ministry: No signs of violence found on body of Abkhaz blogger Daur Buava

A preliminary examination revealed no signs of violence on the body of Abkhaz blogger Daur Buava, who was found dead in Tbilisi, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs told the IPN news agency.

According to the ministry, Buava’s body was transferred to the Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau, where an examination is currently underway.

As previously reported, Daur Buava was found dead in a residential apartment in Tbilisi. The exact cause of death remains unknown at this time; however, he is presumed to have died several days ago. According to unofficial reports, there was a “pungent smell of spoiled meat” in the stairwell, prompting neighbors to call emergency services.

Upon entering the apartment, rescue workers found the Abkhaz blogger dead.

An investigation has been launched under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which covers incitement to suicide.
