The United Airports of Georgia has announced tenders for the construction of new passenger terminals at Mestia and Telavi airports.
According to the agency, the new terminal at the airport in the highland town of Mestia (Svaneti region) will be able to handle approximately 50,000 passengers per year; a similar capacity of up to 50,000 people is also planned for the new terminal in Kakheti’s main city, Telavi.
The construction timeline is 24 months for Mestia Airport and 21 months for Telavi Airport.
“The new terminals will enhance the quality of passenger service, foster tourism development, and boost regional domestic mobility,” the statement read.
