On the occasion of the Feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God (Mariamoba), President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili pardoned 226 individuals. Among them were persons detained during protests against the “Russian” foreign agent law and pro-European demonstrations, as well as defendants in the “October 4 case” regarding the storming of the presidential palace.
- Fridon Bubuteishvili — sentenced to 5 years in prison on January 20, 2025. Bubuteishvili was accused of injuring a firefighter-rescuer with a stone and damaging the parliament gates. On May 8, 2026, reports surfaced that he had petitioned Kavelashvili for a pardon;
- Simon Makharadze — detained in connection with the “October 4 case”;
- David Khomeriki — sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison on August 15, 2025. Khomeriki was accused of preparing a crime, as well as transporting and planting an explosive or other life- and health-threatening device or substance;
- Saba Jikia — sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison on July 10, 2025. The prosecutor’s office charged Jikia with assaulting a police officer;
- Daniel Mumladze — sentenced to 3 years in prison on June 2, 2025. Mumladze was accused of damaging a surveillance camera;
- Guram Khutashvili — sentenced to 3 years in prison on June 2, 2025. Khutashvili was accused of damaging a surveillance camera;
- Tornike Mchedlishvili — detained in connection with the “October 4 case”;
- Avtandil Topchishvili — detained in connection with the “October 4 case”.
