The planned concert in Tbilisi, where Berat Mert Demir—a Turkish DJ who visited occupied Abkhazia in August—was scheduled to perform, has been cancelled.
“Unfortunately, in light of the information that has circulated recently and the resulting situation, we have decided to cancel the event to avoid any potential problems and any further complication of the atmosphere,” the organizers stated.
Ticket sales have now been halted. According to the organizers, the full cost of tickets already purchased will be refunded to buyers.
The live concert in Tbilisi was scheduled to take place on September 25. However, it emerged that several weeks ago Berat Mert Demir played a set in Sokhumi, from which numerous videos widely circulated on social media.
Berat Mert Demir apparently entered occupied Abkhazia from the territory of Russia—prior to his visit to Sokhumi, he had played a set in Sochi.
