The head of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, Levan Kharabadze, and the head of the agency’s Revenue Service, Mikheil Maghlakelidze, have stepped down from their posts.
“A new head will be introduced on Monday,” the Finance Ministry’s Investigation Service told Georgian media outlets.
Notably, Levan Kharabadze was appointed head of the service on May 1. Prior to that, he served as deputy to the former head of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG), Mamuka Mdinaradze. He succeeded Mikheil Maghlakelidze in this role.
Maghlakelidze, for his part, was appointed head of the Investigation Service on June 24, 2025. Previously, he served as deputy head of the Security Police Department.
On April 27, 2026, Maghlakelidze was transferred to the position of head of the Revenue Service, replacing Irakli [Dachi] Beraia. On April 25, Beraia was appointed First Deputy Head of the State Audit Office.
As for Levan Kharabadze, he was appointed deputy to then-SSSG head Mdinaradze on September 4, 2025, and prior to that served as the State Representative (Governor) in the Kvemo Kartli region.
