The film “A Few Moments of Happiness” by Lebanese-Moroccan director Chaden Safieddine Tazi has been named Best Short Film at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival.
The picture was recognized in the Orizzonti section, which honors experimental and innovative approaches to filmmaking.
At the center of the film is a young Lebanese female director who left Beirut for Paris and watches the war and destruction of Lebanon from afar. She follows the unfolding events through her phone and screen, receiving messages and voice notes from her family back home.
Georgian producers Ana Khazaradze and Nino Chichua took part in the film’s development, with their company, 1991 Productions, serving as the production company.
They previously contributed to the making of Levan Akin’s film “Crossing,” which opened the Panorama section at the 2024 Berlin International Film Festival.
