In the second quarter of 2026, the average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by 8% (or by 177.3 GEL) compared to the same period last year, reaching 2,389.3 GEL (approximately $910). The relevant data was published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Sakstat).
According to the agency, broken down by economic activity, relatively high wage levels during the reporting period were recorded in the following sectors:
- Information and communication — 4,400.4 GEL (a 5.4% increase compared to the same period of the previous year);
- Financial and insurance activities — 4,074.1 GEL (up 9.2%);
- Construction — 3,496.6 GEL (up 0.8%);
- Professional, scientific, and technical activities — 3,304.8 GEL (up 10.3%).
In the second quarter of 2026, the average salary for women stood at 1,927 GEL, while for men it was 2,856.4 GEL. The annual wage growth reached 157.5 GEL (8.9%) for women and 200.5 GEL (7.6%) for men.
Across economic activities, men’s wages exceeded women’s in all sectors.
In the second quarter of 2026, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the business sector increased by 153.8 GEL (6.6%) to 2,471.5 GEL. By type of activity, the highest wages were recorded in information and communication (4,463.9 GEL, up 5.2% year-on-year) and in professional, scientific, and technical activities (3,693 GEL, up 7.3%).
In the second quarter of 2026, the average monthly salary in the non-business and financial sectors increased by 215 GEL (10.6%) compared to the same period last year, totaling 2,239 GEL. By economic activity, relatively higher earnings were observed among those employed in finance and insurance.
In terms of average salary across regions, Tbilisi and Mtskheta-Mtianeti lead the country, according to the Sakstat report.
