Parliament of Georgia Elects David Mamiseishvili as Lifetime Supreme Court Judge

The Parliament of Georgia has elected David Mamiseishvili as a lifetime judge of the Supreme Court. Mamiseishvili’s candidacy was backed by 85 lawmakers, with 12 members of parliament voting against.

The parliamentary resolution on David Mamiseishvili’s appointment to the Supreme Court will take effect on April 30, 2027, when the judicial seat he is slated to assume becomes vacant.

Mamiseishvili, nominated for the Supreme Court bench by the High Council of Justice, appeared before the Legal Issues Committee for a confirmation hearing on September 14. As noted during the session, Mamiseishvili has 25 years of overall professional legal experience, including 18 years on the bench.
