Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
According to the government administration, the sides highlighted the friendly ties between the two countries and the positive momentum in advancing cooperation across various spheres. Hope was expressed that an embassy of Serbia would soon open in Tbilisi, which would contribute to further deepening bilateral relations.
“Attention was focused on the growing trend in bilateral trade turnover; it was noted that finalizing a free trade agreement, negotiations on which are entering their final stage, would mark an important step forward in this direction.”
The Prime Minister of Georgia thanked the President of Serbia “for supporting the country’s European aspirations and emphasized the special importance of relations based on mutual respect.”
