Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze has compared participants in the continuous protest in Tbilisi, which has been ongoing since late 2024, to cult members. Speaking to reporters, the head of government stated that these individuals gather without any purpose and know that they will achieve no result, which makes it «a kind of cult-like activity».
“For so many days, they have witnessed their own failure, yet they still gather daily in groups of 20, 50, or 150 people, the turnout is roughly around that, and consequently, this group, this association, has truly taken on the appearance of a cult. <…>

When you perform rituals on a daily basis without any purpose, know that you will not achieve any result, and assemble like this without any result orientation, without a goal—this truly is a form of cult activity; there can be no other assessment of it,” the prime minister stated.
