New members have joined the civic association Anti-Annexation Platform.
Among the new participants are:
- Teona Akubardia – former Member of Parliament, defence and security specialist;
- Giorgi Rukhadze – international relations expert;
- Mamuka Samkharadze – reserve colonel, former defence attaché of Georgia;
- Davit Kapanadze – security expert;
- Nodar Titirashvili – businessman.
The Anti-Annexation Platform was established on 27 August.
The organisation’s declared objectives include “countering Russia’s occupation and annexation policies through legal, civic, and peaceful means, supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, and protecting the rights of internally displaced persons from the occupied territories.”
Its founders are:
- Vladimer Chachibaia – former Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Georgia;
- Nodar Kharshiladze – former Deputy Minister of Defence and Internal Affairs of Georgia, co-founder of the Georgian Strategic Analysis Center (GSAC);
- Akia Barbakadze – reserve colonel, former Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council of Georgia;
- Kakha Gogidze – director;
- Paata Davitaia – Chairman of the European Democrats of Georgia party;
- Nikoloz Vashakidze – former Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council of Georgia, former First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, former First Deputy Minister of Defence of Georgia;
- Mamuka Gamkrelidze – former Ambassador of Georgia to China;
- Giorgi Melashvili – Director of the Europe-Georgia Institute (EGI);
- Irakli Tabliashvili – journalist.
