Giorgi Kirvalidze, a defendant in the case concerning the events of October 4, 2025, has been sentenced to 7 days of administrative arrest for directing profanities at Bidzina Ivanishvili.
According to the TV Pirveli channel, the ruling drew an outcry from Kirvalidze, who called the judge a “slave.” Kirvalidze was not represented by a lawyer during the hearing.
Giorgi Kirvalidze hurled expletives at Bidzina Ivanishvili on June 24, immediately after a plea bargain was finalized with him regarding the October 4 events.
“I do not plead guilty, annul [the plea agreement], f*** Bidzina’s mother too,” he declared at the time before leaving the courtroom.
Following this incident, the prosecutor’s office petitioned the Court of Appeals to revoke the plea deal. The court granted the prosecution’s motion and remanded the case to the Tbilisi City Court. A final verdict in Kirvalidze’s case has not yet been delivered.
Giorgi Kirvalidze’s lawyer remains convinced that prosecutors sought to cancel the plea agreement specifically because of the content of the defendant’s outburst, rather than Kirvalidze’s own purported request to rescind the deal.
His nine-month term of pre-trial detention had expired, and he was released from the penitentiary facility several weeks ago.
