“As we promised the public, the rehabilitation project for Rustaveli Avenue will be completed by the end of November. A full rehabilitation of the buildings and structures located along the avenue is also planned, which we intend to launch next year,” stated Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze at a municipal government meeting.
According to him, work is progressing actively: underground utility networks are being upgraded, and pedestrian sidewalks are being overhauled.
“The scale of work is extensive, and certain mobility difficulties have arisen during the rehabilitation process. We understand how challenging this is. Carrying out works of this magnitude without certain restrictions and inconvenience is simply impossible. I apologize to the residents of the capital. I assure you: once the project is finished, the avenue will become one of the most beautiful, thoroughly landscaped, and fully renewed.
A full rehabilitation of the existing buildings and structures along the avenue is also scheduled, which we expect to begin next year. Once those works are fully completed, the avenue will be completely restored,” Kaladze noted.
