Asian Development Bank: Georgia’s Economic Growth to Slow Down

According to a new report by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Georgia’s economic growth will slow in 2026 amid declining activity in the services sector and weak external demand.

As noted in the analysis published by the bank, the prolonged conflict in the Middle East and heightened geopolitical risks could further decelerate growth.

The ADB’s flagship annual economic publication—the April issue of the Asian Development Outlook 2026—suggests that Georgia’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth will slow from 7.5% in 2025 to 5.5% in 2026 due to weak external demand.

“Growth is expected to decline further to 5.2% in 2027 amid slowing domestic consumption, linked to the diminishing contribution of migrants who arrived following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The forecast is based on a scenario of early stabilization of the conflict in the Middle East and was prepared on March 10 under conditions of high uncertainty,” the report stated.
