Judoka Guram Tushishvili Crowned European Champion

At the European Judo Championships currently taking place in Tbilisi, Georgian national team captain Guram Tushishvili (+100 kg) defeated Lukáš Krpálek of the Czech Republic in the final, securing his third European title.

Earlier, in the round of 16, he defeated Giannis Antoniou of Cyprus, followed by a quarter-final victory over İbrahim Tataroğlu of Turkey, and a semi-final win by ippon against Valeriy Endovitskiy of Russia.

The Georgian Judo Federation stated that history has been made: Georgia concluded the European Championships with four gold, two silver, and one bronze medal.

As a result, Georgia took first place in the overall team standings with a total of seven medals.
