Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has stated that the 2028 parliamentary elections should be held without the “radical four”—the opposition parties that the ruling Georgian Dream party considers the “collective National Movement”: the UNM (United National Movement) itself, the Coalition for Change, Lelo – Strong Georgia, and the Federalists (which was added to the updated list — Ed.).
According to the head of the Georgian government, the so-called collective “National Movement” is comparable to the far-right National Socialist German Workers’ Party, noting that in substance it is a “fascist-Bolshevik political association.”

“They proved this during their nine years in power, when they trampled on fundamental human rights and human dignity, tortured people, and business racketeering was their signature style; <they> handed over 20% of the country’s territory to the Russian Federation, and so on.
This is a typical Bolshevik political association, and in a healthy democratic system, there should, of course, be no place for such an organization.
<…> We are talking about 3+1 political parties; in total, they received about 30% of the votes, which is quite a lot—in 2024, many people were misled.
I will repeat once more: there are historical examples from other countries where a specific anti-constitutional party had even more voters. Thus, this is not an argument in itself. If a party is unconstitutional in its essence, it must be banned by the Constitutional Court—we have filed a corresponding lawsuit with the court.
