Georgia is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Georgian Defense Forces. A formal ceremony is being held in Vaziani to mark the occasion. The event included a swearing-in ceremony for recruits, as well as the awarding of medals to soldiers for their devotion to the motherland.
Mikheil Kavelashvili, Shalva Papuashvili, Irakli Chikovani, and Irakli Kobakhidze addressed the gathering. During his speech, the latter stated:
“Our army has always been and remains the primary guarantor of Georgia’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Since their inception, the Defense Forces have honorably defended the freedom of the Motherland in every battle. Furthermore, Georgian military personnel have fought selflessly alongside partners for global peace and security in various parts of the world. Through your professionalism and courage, you have earned high international recognition and the great trust of our partners,” he stated.
