Roman Kartsivadze, the former director of the Special Tasks Department, has been appointed head of the Special Operations Department of the State Security Service of Georgia (SGB), according to the agency.
“The Head of the State Security Service promised the personnel full support and thanked them for their work.
Furthermore, Geka Geladze, along with his deputies and the new director of the Special Operations Department, inspected the infrastructure, weaponry, and military equipment at the base,” the statement reads.
As a reminder, on April 21, Irakli Kobakhidze announced government reshuffles: Mdinaradze stepped down as head of the SGB to become Vice Prime Minister and State Minister for the Coordination of Law Enforcement Activities.
The post of SGB head was taken by former Minister of Internal Affairs Gela (Geka) Geladze, while the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) is now headed by the former head of the Adjara government, Sulkhan Tamazashvili.
