Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze participated in a round-table discussion titled “Strengthening Connectivity and Economic Security” as part of the 8th European Political Community summit in Yerevan.
The government administration reported that Kobakhidze emphasized Georgia’s unique role in ensuring transport connectivity and discussed major infrastructure projects being implemented by the country’s government to support this function, including the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway, high-speed motorways, and the Anaklia Deep Sea Port.

The Georgian Prime Minister emphasized the importance of diversifying transport and energy routes, highlighting the strategic significance of the Southern Gas Corridor and the Black Sea submarine cable projects in this context.
“The head of the Georgian government reaffirmed his readiness to continue close cooperation with partners and noted that strong connectivity is one of the key prerequisites for long-term stability,” the statement from the Georgian Administration reads.
The round table was co-chaired by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
Participants in the discussion included Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, President of North Macedonia Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, and OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu.
