In connection with the 2024 protests, the Prosecutor’s Office has detained five individuals, including three former and one active special forces officer, regarding violence committed against protester Zviad Maisashvili, politician Levan Khabeishvili, and journalist Guram Rogava.
The relevant statement was made by the Prosecutor General of Georgia, Giorgi Gvarakidze, during a briefing held at the office.
According to the Prosecutor General, two of the five individuals are already in custody as part of investigations into various other criminal cases.
