World War II Veterans to Receive One-Time Financial Aid

In connection with the 81st anniversary of the victory over fascism, World War II veterans will receive a one-time social cash payment of 2,000 lari, while family members of those killed in the war will receive 1,000 lari, according to the Government Administration.

“Financial assistance will be provided to World War II veterans and family members of those killed in the war who are registered in the electronic database of the State Service of Veterans Affairs.

According to the government decree, the Social Service Agency—under the state control of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia—will ensure the payment of the one-time social assistance throughout Georgia (with the exception of World War II veterans and family members of the deceased registered in the Tbilisi municipality).

The allocation of relevant funds for the payment of financial aid to World War II veterans and family members of the deceased registered in Tbilisi will be provided by the Tbilisi City Hall,” the statement reads.
