Georgian Dream Leaders Lay Wreath at Meliton Kantaria Monument

Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, President Mikheil Kavelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, and Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze laid a wreath at the monument to Meliton Kantaria in the Veterans’ Culture and Recreation Park (Kikvidze Park) in Tbilisi.

Members of the Cabinet of Ministers were also in attendance. Veterans and other citizens also gathered in Kikvidze Park to mark today’s anniversary.

Events commemorating Victory Day took place in Tbilisi’s Kikvidze Park. In recent years, the monument to Meliton Kantaria has become the site for the commemorative ceremony marking the end of World War II. Previously, Victory Day was traditionally celebrated in Vake Park.
