Rally in Support of Children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Held in Tbilisi

A protest march is being held in Tbilisi in support of children suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Participants are demanding access to life-saving medication for patients with the condition.

The march began at the Rustaveli metro station and proceeded toward the Government Administration building. Parents of the affected children and their supporters are participating in the rally, carrying red balloons and placards addressed to the authorities.

The main slogan of the protest is “Give children the medicine!” Participants state that their goal is to once again draw the government’s attention to the issue and ensure that patients are provided with the necessary drug, which they say is critical for the lives of children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Parents noted that they have been holding continuous protests outside the Government Administration building for 20 days, including overnight vigils, as they push for a resolution regarding the supply of the medication.
