Over 13,000 New Job Seekers Registered in Georgia in 2025

In 2025, more than 13,000 new job seekers registered on the platform of the State Employment Support Agency, announced Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection Giorgi Tsagareishvili during the presentation of the report “On the Planning and Implementation of Employment Policy for 2025” at a meeting of the Committee on Agriculture.

“In 2025, the number of citizen inquiries increased as a result of improved accessibility of our services and expanded geographical coverage. Inquiries rose by 59%, with over 13,000 new job seekers registering on the platform.

It is worth noting that the activity of women and youth has significantly increased—women account for 62% of those registered, while 13.4% are young people who are actively utilizing our platform.

In 2025, the job seeker registration portal work.net was launched and is currently under development. This is a new pilot version; its full development and implementation are planned for the end of 2026, and it is currently operating in pilot mode. The project was developed with the support of the World Bank.

The paid internship program is also a highly successful and in-demand initiative. In 2025, the agency increased the internship stipend, and this year we have increased it by another 100 lari—to 500 lari. The program provides job seekers with the opportunity to gain real work experience and secure long-term employment. In 2025, 42 employers expressed interest in cooperating with the agency, resulting in 224 interns joining the program, 129 of whom remained with the companies on a permanent basis. In 2026, we added an internship subsidy program for high-mountain regions. The first beneficiaries have already emerged.

In 2025, we collaborated with more than 800 private sector employers, and over 14,600 vacancies were posted in the system. Six large-scale job fairs were held, attended by more than 900 applicants. Following these fairs, the employment rate increased by 20% compared to last year…

We have also introduced a function for registering and managing the employment processes of foreign citizens. In this regard, the state had faced a significant lag, which we believe can be promptly addressed. Active registration of foreign citizens in our system has already begun. Currently, over 23,000 foreigners are registered, allowing us, as a country, to fully monitor processes in the open labor market—to know exactly who is doing what and where, how they work, where the gaps are, and where there is a shortage or surplus of labor. While such records existed previously, they were very superficial,” stated Tsagareishvili.
