Gia Volski, Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, stated on the sanctioned Imedi TV channel that LGBT rights in Georgia are not being violated.
“If you tell the LGBT community that they must go out to the main avenue with flags to defend their rights, which in reality no one is violating, it means you expect a counter-protest to occur.
This action will escalate into physical confrontation, blood will be shed, and this will allow specific forces to develop a certain policy regarding you.
And the trend known as the protection of the LGBT community will be used as a mechanism to weaken the government in Georgia,” Volski stated.
