Georgia to Host Interpol European Regional Conference in 2027

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia announced that the 54th Interpol European Regional Conference will be held in Georgia in 2027.

The decision was made by a majority vote of the member states at the 53rd Interpol Regional Conference in Toledo.

The ministry noted that the selection of Georgia as the host country highlights the effective cooperation of Georgian law enforcement agencies with European partners, as well as the country’s growing role in international police cooperation.

The Georgian delegation at the conference was represented by Irakli Dondoladze, Deputy Director of the Central Criminal Police Department; Giorgi Bolotashvili, Head of the Interpol National Central Bureau in Georgia; and Shalva Shubladze, Police Attaché of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia in Spain.

The statement noted that prior to the vote, representatives of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs briefed the forum participants on the results of the Georgian police’s fight against organized crime and drug trafficking, as well as international operations and the modern capabilities of the country’s law enforcement system.

In 2027, representatives of the Interpol General Secretariat and Executive Committee, as well as heads of European law enforcement agencies, are expected to arrive in Georgia.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs believes that hosting a conference of this scale will help strengthen international law enforcement cooperation.
