World Leaders Congratulate Georgian PM on Independence Day

Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, China, Croatia, Bulgaria, and Serbia have already congratulated Georgia and the country’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, on Independence Day.

The congratulatory letters sent to Irakli Kobakhidze by the leaders of neighboring and partner states were released by the Administration of the Government of Georgia.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, in his congratulatory letter, noted Georgia’s dynamic development and emphasized that relations between the two countries are based on traditions of friendship, brotherhood, and good neighborliness.

“Today, our interstate relations and strategic partnership are characterized by a high level of political dialogue, regular bilateral visits, and mutually beneficial cooperation, which is constantly being filled with new content,” Aliyev’s letter reads.

The President of Azerbaijan also focused on the further deepening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated that the further strengthening of brotherly relations with Georgia is one of the main goals of the Armenian government’s foreign policy.

“The further strengthening of brotherly relations with Georgia is one of the main goals of our government’s foreign policy, which has already acquired the character of a practical and institutionalized strategic partnership. <…> We also highly appreciate the efforts of the Georgian government and your personal efforts toward regional cooperation. Once again, I congratulate you on Independence Day and wish you productive work, and peace and prosperity to your country,” Pashinyan writes.

President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan wished prosperity to Georgia and the Georgian people and emphasized the importance of further deepening the strategic partnership between Ankara and Tbilisi. According to him, close cooperation between the two countries serves the interests of the peoples of the region, as well as stability and prosperity.

“Dear Prime Minister, on behalf of myself and the Turkish people, I cordially congratulate you and the Georgian people on the Independence Day of neighboring and friendly Georgia. During your visit to the Antalya Diplomatic Forum last month, we had the opportunity to discuss the further deepening of our close friendship and exemplary cooperation between Turkey and Georgia at the level of strategic partnership, which, I deeply believe, serves the interests of our peoples, and the stability and prosperity of the region. Taking this opportunity, I once again wish you health and happiness, and prosperity to the friendly people of Georgia,” Erdogan writes in his letter to PM Kobakhidze.

EU Embassy congratulates Georgia on Independence Day

Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang, in his congratulatory letter, noted the positive dynamics of the development of the strategic partnership between China and Georgia in recent years.

“In the past few years, the strategic partnership between China and Georgia has been developing successfully, and bilateral cooperation within the framework of the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative has yielded fruitful results. I express my readiness to make joint efforts to deepen cooperation between our countries and elevate China-Georgia relations to an even higher level of quality. I wish you health and all the best. I wish prosperity to Georgia and happiness to the Georgian people,” the letter to the Prime Minister reads.

Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković stated that Zagreb attaches great importance to relations and productive cooperation with Georgia. According to him, friendship and partnership between the two countries will continue to deepen in the interests of their peoples and regional stability.

“Our commitment to dialogue and mutual respect contributes to the stable development of cooperation in various areas. I am confident that through joint efforts, the friendship and partnership between Croatia and Georgia will continue to deepen for the benefit of our peoples and in support of stability and cooperation in our wider region,” the politician’s congratulatory message reads.

Prime Minister of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, in his letter, drew attention to the long-standing historical and cultural ties between the two countries.

“The Republic of Bulgaria values constructive cooperation and partnership with Georgia, which are based on long-standing historical and cultural ties between our two countries and peoples. I am confident that through joint efforts in the format of bilateral relations, we will be able to contribute to their development and improvement in areas of common interest, and in the format of multilateral relations, we will promote the development of our trade and economic ties, connections between Europe and Asia, as well as security in the wider Black Sea region in the context of international initiatives. I wish you health and success in your responsible work,” the message notes.

Prime Minister of Serbia Djuro Macut, for his part, stated that bilateral cooperation between Belgrade and Tbilisi, based on mutual respect and understanding, continues to develop in all areas of common interest.

He also thanked Georgia for its consistent support of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“I look forward to future meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and Georgia. I also take this opportunity to express my special gratitude for Georgia’s consistent support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia. Your country’s position on this vital issue for us demonstrates Georgia’s commitment to consistent respect for the fundamental principles of international law, which we highly appreciate,” the letter to the Prime Minister of Georgia reads.
