In support of children with Duchenne, a “March of Gratitude” is taking place on Rustaveli Avenue, the city’s primary protest thoroughfare.
The organizers and parents of children with Duchenne emphasized that this is a march of gratitude, unity, and victory.
In this way, they are expressing their gratitude to everyone who supported the parents and stood by them during protests against the authorities’ decision to delay purchasing the medications due to the lack of a conclusive evidence base.
The march is also dedicated to the students of Ilia State University, who, through a marathon of live-streamed broadcasts on social media, managed to raise financial aid for the children.
The march will conclude outside the building of the Government Administration of Georgia.
Notably, following negotiations with the parents, the authorities decided to establish a working group.
It will focus on the issue of providing children with Duchenne with the necessary medications.
