Russian woman in Abkhazia forced to apologize for bucket hat with “Georgia” inscription

Russian citizen Ksenia Talypova apologized in a video address for appearing in occupied Gagra on June 1 wearing a pink bucket hat featuring a map of Georgia in its full borders, the Georgian flag, and the inscription “Georgia.”

The 33-year-old woman from Sochi stated that she put on the headwear while filming a Reel.

According to her, there was no political subtext to this, and she recognizes the so-called independence of occupied Abkhazia, adding that she found the bucket hat in an eco-house she had rented for two weeks.

“I believe that Abkhazia is an independent state,” she stated.

In the footage, the very same hat featuring the image of the Georgian flag lies next to her.

Just a few hours before this “confession,” the Sochi resident posted a photo on social media with the caption: “It’s been 7 days since I’ve been alone in this little house. Nobody has torn me to pieces yet over the ‘Georgia’ bucket hat.”
