Another 6 defendants in the October 4 ‘storming’ case are free

Those detained on charges in the October 4, 2025 ‘storming’ case have been released from the courtroom. These are six protesters:

  • Giorgi Korkia, Giorgi Rurua, Khvicha Gogokhia, Levan Jikia, Lasha Ivanadze, and Sergo Megrelishvili.

All of them pleaded guilty and signed a plea agreement with the prosecution, which was approved by Judge Demetre Jinjolia.

Each of the six defendants was handed a three-year suspended sentence.

In court, all six individuals pleaded guilty and did not contest the evidence.

It is reported that a plea agreement will not be reached with 8 of the 14 defendants who did not plead guilty:

  • Zurab Chavchanidze, Vladimer Gvelesiani, Amiran Dolishvili, Anton Vardanidze, Aleksandre Chilachava, Genadi Kupreishvili, Sulkhan Tugushi, and Ramaz Mamuladze.
