A de facto court in occupied Donetsk has sentenced Georgian fighter Bacho Nonashvili, who is fighting in Ukraine, to 14 years in a maximum-security penal colony in absentia.
Russian media report that Nonashvili arrived in Ukraine in the summer of 2023 through a border checkpoint in Poland and participated in combat operations against the Russian Armed Forces until March 2026.
The 40-year-old Nonashvili is charged with participating in combat operations on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The de facto prosecutor’s office of the “DPR” reports that the Georgian fighter was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and has been placed on an international wanted list.
