“After 10 months of illegal detention, Elene Khoshtaria faces irreversible damage to her health,” MEP Rasa Juknevičienė wrote on the social network X. She noted that the European Parliament has recognized that Elene Khoshtaria is being held in degrading conditions and requires specialized medical care.
“The Georgian authorities are ignoring demands to develop a treatment plan. This is political persecution. Free Elene!” Juknevičienė wrote.
Earlier, Khoshtaria’s lawyer, Shota Tutberidze, reported a deterioration in her health. According to him, she is experiencing severe joint pain and serious difficulties moving, requiring a cane.
