Passenger Car Imports Fall to Four-Year Low

In January–May 2026, passenger car imports to Georgia declined. Data from the National Statistics Office shows that the number of vehicles imported during the first five months of the year fell to its lowest level in four years.

Specifically, 77,054 cars worth a total of $1.251 billion were imported into the country between January and May. For comparison, during the same period in 2025, Georgia imported 90,434 vehicles worth $1.567 billion.

Thus, year-on-year, car imports decreased by 14.8% in terms of quantity and by approximately 20.2% in terms of value.

According to the statistics, the United States remains the primary supplier of cars to Georgia. During the first five months of 2026, 58,881 vehicles worth $698.1 million were imported from the US.

  6. Turkey — 719 cars worth $28.5 million;
  7. South Korea — 1,432 cars worth $21.3 million;
  8. Canada — 990 cars worth $16 million;
  9. Italy — 89 cars worth $13.4 million;
  10.  Azerbaijan — 33 cars worth $10.5 million.
