The leader of the Coalition for Change, Elene Khoshtaria, has declared that she does not intend to appeal to the authorities with a request for a transfer to a clinic, even if doing so becomes a condition for receiving necessary medical assistance.
The politician published the statement on social media after doctor Maka Ioseliani, who visited her in the penitentiary facility, recommended that she undergo additional examinations at a multidisciplinary clinic.
“First of all, a huge thank you to everyone for your support and sympathy. Special thanks to Maka Ioseliani. I deeply appreciate that she responded and dedicated so much of her time to me.
Many thanks to Ani Kavtaradze, Eka Beselia, Shota Tutberidze, my colleagues from the Droa (It’s Time) party, the Women’s Movement, and Tina Bokuchava.
As for my condition, it has, of course, been confirmed once again that the system is Russian in its essence, and there is no limit to its lawlessness and inhumanity.
I state unequivocally and clearly: if my transfer to a clinic depends on my request or demand, forget about it. Under no circumstances will you receive any requests from me.
Over the course of six months, I myself brought you to the point of making a diagnosis. Now make your decision and bear the responsibility.
I also want to emphasize: the responsibility for what is happening lies with the medical department of the Special Penitentiary Service. The same applies to the health of Mzia Amaglobeli, Zinovkina, Nino Datashvili, and all other prisoners.
I sincerely have no grievances against Nestan Verulashvili. Moreover, I treat her with respect.
If I did not have very strong arguments, I would not say this. The same certainly cannot be said about Urtmelidze. We will return to this person more than once and give a proper assessment.
P.S. I express my full support to the TV channels TV Pirveli and Formula. This is an extremely alarming signal,” Khoshtaria wrote.
