Tsotne Ivanishvili, the son of Georgian Dream founder Bidzina Ivanishvili, has stated that at this stage, he has no interest in political activity. The billionaire’s son shared that his main interests lie in philosophy and art history, which he studies at an academic level.
In addition, the younger Ivanishvili noted that he has been actively painting for a long time, but has no plans to present his work to the public yet.
Tsotne Ivanishvili explained that he supports various youth initiatives and often attends such events as a guest, but this does not mean he intends to enter politics.
“By the way, I have been asked this question many times. I can say quite unequivocally: I have absolutely no interest in politics. I have never publicly spoken about what I do academically or what I am working on. I haven’t shown my work for a long time, although I paint a lot. <…> I try to work hard, but I am not publishing anything yet—either technically or conceptually—because I want to develop my ideas further first,” Ivanishvili stated.
The son of the Georgian Dream founder also answered a question about relations with the European Union, noting that European integration must remain Georgia’s strategic goal, but this process must proceed while preserving national identity and traditions.
“Of course, Georgia must strive toward the European Union and the values associated with Europe—Christian morality, human rights, and others. But it is necessary to do so while preserving Georgian customs, traditions, and dignity, rather than sacrificing them,” Tsotne Ivanishvili stated.
