In occupied Abkhazia, it was announced that on July 3, the de facto prosecutor’s office of the Gali District opened a so-called criminal case against Georgian citizen Gela Mebonia.
He is accused of “illegal crossing of the state border of Abkhazia from Georgia” on July 2 of this year, from the direction of the village of Nabakevi (Bataiguara).
On July 6, Gela Mebonia was remanded in custody as a preventive measure for the duration of the so-called preliminary investigation.
