Protest participant Isako Devidze reaches plea agreement

Isako Devidze, a participant in pro-European protests in Georgia who was accused of contempt of court, has reached a plea agreement with the prosecutor’s office, which entails a one-year prison sentence.

Judge Nino Nachkebia found Devidze guilty as charged and approved the plea agreement reached between the parties.

Isako Devidze will be released from the penitentiary facility in 6 months.

As a reminder, Isako Devidze was administratively detained on December 20, 2025; he was accused of insulting a police officer and sentenced to 30 days of administrative arrest.

However, before this term expired, he was charged under Article 366 of the Criminal Code, which covers contempt of court. Specifically, Devidze was accused of insulting Judge Zviad Tsekvava.
