The lawyer for Russian citizen Alyona Nesteryuk stated that the Russian citizens involved in the case of the altercation at a wedding in Telavi have already been questioned and warned that they cannot leave Georgia for the next few days.
Lali Aptsiauri said that her client completely denies allegations that the women provoked the wedding guests, insulted them, doused them with water or champagne, spat, and damaged musical equipment.
The lawyer also stated that the published videos do not provide evidence that the women started the altercation. According to her, there is footage showing, on the contrary, wedding guests shouting at and insulting the women.
Aptsiauri pointed out that there is currently no evidence regarding the injuries of the detained Giorgi Chigladze, noting that it remains unclear who inflicted them. The defense added that the possibility of criminal prosecution against her client is not currently under consideration.
Aptsiauri stated that the altercation began after the women opened champagne on the balcony while celebrating a birthday. The lawyer maintains that there were no provocative actions on their part.
“They categorically deny any provocative actions. They categorically deny spitting or pouring water or champagne on anyone. They came to Georgia to celebrate a birthday and simply opened champagne on the balcony,” the lawyer stated.
