Pavel Durov: Georgia Is Becoming an Important Business Hub

A month after his visit to Georgia, Telegram and VKontakte founder Pavel Durov stated that the country is turning into a major international business hub while remaining significantly undervalued. He also announced that he will soon visit Georgia again, though he did not disclose the purpose of the upcoming trip.

It is known that during his June visit, Durov was hosted by Vako Turnava, an MP from the Georgian Dream party.

“As for Georgia, I am deeply impressed. The country is known for its hospitable people, ancient culture, local cuisine, and stunning landscapes. But it doesn’t stop there.

Thanks to pro-business government policies, Georgia is becoming an important business hub. Over the past five years, the country’s economy has doubled and continues to grow at about 8% per year. International tech companies pay zero corporate income tax (0%), while taxes on dividends and payroll are just 5%. Georgia is seriously undervalued as both a tourist and business destination. I will be back very soon!” Durov stated.
