The State Security Service of Georgia has launched an investigation into sabotage following two major power outages.
The State Security Service of Georgia (SSG) has launched an investigation under the article on sabotage in connection with emergency power outages across the country on July 24 and 25, the agency said in a statement.
“The State Security Service of Georgia has launched an investigation under Article 318 of the Criminal Code of Georgia in connection with repeated emergency power supply outages across the country.
This article provides for liability for obstructing the normal operation, or damaging or destroying, a state enterprise or another critical facility with the intent to threaten the state interests of Georgia.
The State Security Service will inform the public in stages about the progress of the investigation,” the statement reads.
