SSSG: Georgian citizen unlawfully detained near Perevi released

The State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) reports that a Georgian citizen who was unlawfully detained by Russian occupation forces near the village of Perevi in Sachkhere Municipality has been released and is currently in territory controlled by the central government of Georgia.

“The central authorities activated all relevant mechanisms at their disposal to secure the release of the unlawfully detained Georgian citizen, including the ‘hotline’ operating with the mediation of the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM).

The State Security Service continues to work around the clock to secure the release of every Georgian citizen unlawfully held in the occupied territories,” the SSSG statement reads.
