Georgia joins the Sea Breeze 2026 international naval exercise

The US Embassy stated that it is pleased with Georgia’s participation in Sea Breeze 2026, a US-led multinational naval exercise that brings together NATO allies and partners to enhance interoperability and strengthen maritime security.

According to the embassy’s statement, this year’s exercise focused on mine countermeasures operations.

“Participants underwent training in detecting and neutralizing sea mines, conducting underwater and rescue operations, explosive ordnance disposal, as well as operating unmanned systems.

Twelve service members from the Georgian Coast Guard and the Defence Forces of Georgia took part in the exercise. Joint training allows allies and partners to strengthen regional security and contributes to enhancing safety and stability in the Black Sea region,” the statement reads.
