‘Lelo’ Member: Rukhadze’s Resignation Shows ‘Dream’ Is Drowning in Corruption

“The resignation of Minister of Culture Tinatin Rukhadze proves that ‘Georgian Dream’ is drowning in corruption,” stated Giorgi Sioridze, a member of the ‘Lelo – Strong Georgia’ coalition.

“The fact that Tinatin Rukhadze, while on her way to the prosecutor’s office yesterday, announced her resignation via a Facebook post is further evidence that ‘Georgian Dream’ is drowning in corruption.

High-ranking representatives of ‘Georgian Dream’ compete among themselves for a share of public funds. When Ivanishvili’s team decides to make someone a scapegoat, we see that the person is either forced to resign or sent to prison.

This is precisely what we — ‘Strong Georgia – Lelo’, free citizens, and opposition representatives — have been saying for many years. ‘Georgian Dream’ has established a system of corruption in the country and brought it to an unprecedented level. This occurs at the level of prime ministers and ministers, as well as at the lowest levels of the state apparatus.

Systemic corruption cannot be defeated by show trials against one or two individuals. It will only be defeated after the ‘Georgian Dream’ regime is replaced,” Sioridze stated.

As a reminder, Minister of Culture Tinatin Rukhadze has announced her resignation. In a statement published on Facebook, she explained her decision by citing health issues, noting that she could not devote as much attention to her work as she deemed necessary.
