Elene Khoshtaria Diagnosed with Inflammatory Spondyloarthritis

Elene Khoshtaria, the detained leader of the Droa party, has been diagnosed with inflammatory spondyloarthritis, her attending physicians, Maka Ioseliani and Ana Kavtaradze, reported. According to the doctors, the patient underwent numerous laboratory and radiological studies, with some tests sent abroad. Consultations were also held with medical specialists both in Georgia and internationally.

During the examination, doctors managed to relieve her pain syndrome and administer symptomatic treatment. Upon receiving the test results, specialists confirmed the preliminary diagnosis of inflammatory spondyloarthritis, a disease that affects not only the spine but also peripheral joints.

The physicians noted that an active infection was ruled out, and potential risks were kept to a minimum. In accordance with international guidelines, the patient has been prescribed a disease-modifying biological drug. Treatment is scheduled to begin on July 31.
