In the second quarter of 2026, 1.7 million foreign non-resident citizens visited Georgia, down 4.9% compared to the same period last year. Travelers aged 31 to 50 accounted for the largest share of arrivals in Georgia (43.8%), according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
Of the total number of visitors:
- 81.5% were tourists;
- 14.8% were same-day visitors;
- 3.8% combined both trip types.
The largest number of visitors arrived from:
- Russia — 328.9 thousand people (25.1%);
- Turkey — 16.9%;
- Armenia — 10.8%.
The most numerous age group was visitors aged 31–50 (45.6%), while women made up 42.9% of the total foreign visitors. Nearly half of all trips (49.6%) were made for holiday, leisure, and recreation. The most popular destinations were Tbilisi (875.5 thousand visits) and Adjara (621.3 thousand).
The average length of stay increased from 5.30 to 5.48 nights, and 81.8% of visits were repeat visits. Meanwhile, total expenditure by foreign visitors amounted to 3 billion lari, down 13.3% year-on-year. Average expenditure per visit dropped by 9.2% to 1,922.1 lari.
