Lawyer Lasha Kapanadze, who is representing Giorgi Chigladze, the defendant in the case regarding an incident at a wedding in a Telavi hotel, has released security camera footage.
According to the lawyer, the surveillance footage clearly shows an unknown liquid being poured from above onto singer Aleksandre (Elguja) Mrelashvili and wedding planner Mariam Omanadze, which also splashed onto the music equipment standing in front of Aleksandre Mrelashvili, damaging it.
“From the criminal case files of Giorgi Chigladze, I am sharing with you the surveillance footage from the Agarani Hotel estate.
In the video, we see that on July 18, 2026, at 20:15:20 camera time, the wedding guests’ attention is drawn to the actions of Russian vacationers situated above them. This is the exact moment when intoxicated Russian tourists began shouting ‘Gorko’ (kiss) at the bride and groom, followed by other provocative shouts.
Because the wedding guests did not pay sufficient attention to their shouts, the annoyed Russian tourists began pouring unknown liquids from the 3rd floor.
In the surveillance camera footage, at 20:16:34 camera time, it is clearly visible that an unknown liquid was poured from above onto singer Aleksandre (Elguja) Mrelashvili and wedding planner Mariam Omanadze, which also got onto the music equipment standing in front of Aleksandre Mrelashvili, causing damage to it.
It is from the moment captured above that the provocation by the Russians begins.
I will also note here that there are frequent cases of foreign citizens, especially from Russia, acting according to a pre-arranged fraudulent scheme: specifically, foreign citizens purchase insurance in their home country, and during a trip to another country, they provoke a crime, trapping the victim and pushing them to commit an offense in order to gain victim status in a criminal case, and then, upon returning to their home country, receive large insurance payouts,” the lawyer wrote on social media.
